Je zal vast denken:’ Goh, waar is Ashley gebleven’? Je hoort niks meer van haar. Dat klopte. Ik was zo aan het genieten van de progressie die ik boekte dat ik vergat te bloggen. Ik wil het niet meer iedere week gaan doen, maar meer om de twee a vier weken. Dan heb ik ook echt wat te vertellen. Anders zul je veel lezen, het gaat goed, of het gaat vooruit. Bij deze een nieuw uitgebreid blog en tevens verslag van week 5,6,7 en 8.
De eerste week van december, kreeg ik mijn concentratie terug. Ik kon films kijken en ook echt snappen wat er gebeurde. Ook boeken en tijdschriften kon ik weer lezen. Ik was dolblij en maakte direct je wereld weer een tikje groter. Op 7 december verloor ik een middag weer zicht aan mijn oog. De rollercoaster was begonnen. Ze waarschuwen je ervoor in Rusland, dat het eerste jaar je last kan hebben van een rollercoaster effect. Je zet een paar stappen vooruit, maar gaat vervolgens weer een paar stappen achteruit. Of je bekende schade kan ineens weer opspelen. Zo ook het zicht aan mijn oog. Dit verbeterde avonds weer. Ik probeerde te denken dat dit tijdelijk is en dat dit het bekende rollercoaster effect is. Wel schrok ik net als ieder ander als het je toch overkomt. In die week begon mijn haar een klein beetje te groeien. inimini sprietjes staken uit mijn kale bolletje, ik bleef eroverheen wrijven omdat het een lekker gevoel is dat ook dat weer groeit.
De tweede week van december mocht ik van de fysio uitbreiden met lopen. Mijn rolstoel maakte plaatst voor rollator. En liep ik voor het huis mijn straat door 1x per dag. In het begin had ik moeite met overdag langs de huizen te lopen. Maar Sven zorgde ervoor dat de onzekerheid plaats maakte voor moed en ik overdag toch ging lopen. Ik was zo trots dat ik een keer twee keer voor het huis liep en direct werd teruggefloten. Dit was nog te veel. Over een paar weken maar weer een keer proberen. Ook werd ik die week ongesteld. Ik was gestopt met de pil en was stiekem benieuwd of mijn lichaam dit al kon oppakken. Normaliter blijft je menstruatie door de chemo 4 maanden uit. En daar was ineens bloed. Ik ben serieus nog nooit zo blij geweest met mijn menstruatie! Mijn lichaam doet het! Ik ben niet onvruchtbaar. Mijn huisarts prikte deze positieve bubbel wel even door. Ze vertelde dat een menstruatie met de pil ene ontrekkingsbloeding is en geen echte menstruatie. Dus je kan er nog niet veel over zeggen, maar stiekem geloof ik desondanks dat het goed zit daar!
De derde week en een week voor kerst ben ik begonnen met mensen te ontvangen in huis. Wel met mondkap op en afstand. Een week later was het namelijk kerst en ik wilde dit graag met mijn eigen familie vieren. Die bestaat uit 8/9 mensen waardoor ik wilde leren om met de drukte om te gaan. Dit pakte mijn lichaam goed op. En was naar mijn idee klaar voor kerst. Op 16 december was daar de bedrijfsarts alweer. Ik kon inmiddels met mijn rollator een rondje buiten lopen en vertelde dat ik echt werk als verpleegkundige nog niet aan toe ben. Het was dus een vrij kort gesprek en zij komt halverwege februari weer in beeld. Een dag later had ik ene gesprek met mijn baas om de bedrijfsarts door te spreken. 18 december had ik enorm goede dag. Wat eerder vier uurtjes een film kijken niet lukte met mijn vriendin, lukte nu prima. Ik ben zelfs naar haar ouders toe gelopen, samen pannenkoeken gebakken en avonds nog naar de ouders geweest om alvast de kerst kadoos te brengen. Het leek bijna normaal behalve mijn rollator die verraadde dat er wat mankeerde. Voor kerst zag ik de ergotherapeut nog die verwachtte nu dat ik mij eens ging aankleden en ging opmaken. Eerder had ik daar echt nul behoefte aan. Ik liep gewoon zonder make up en bh, in mijn pyjama over straat. Ze verwachtte nu wel dat ik wat aan mijn uiterlijk ging doen. Ook wilde ze dat ik een nieuwe hobby ging oppakken en ging bakken. Dit wilde ze voorstellen, zodat ik wat meer het normale leven op kon pakken. Ik was meteen in de weerstand. Ik wilde het op mijn tempo doen, maar ergens wist ik ook dat ze gelijk had. Als je maar in dat bed voor de tv blijft liggen kom je natuurlijk nergens. Ik ben begonnen met bakken van simpele recepten, waarbij ik niet lang hoefde te staan. En maakte ik mij op als we ergens naartoe gingen. Ook begon ik mijn pruik te dragen. Toch is het echt waar, hoeveel weerstand je ook hebt. Je voelt je beter als je die cavia op je kop zet en je littekens plamuurt met make up.
Daar kwam kerst. Ik vond het stiekem wel spannend. Zou ik de avond volhouden, of moeten we eerder afhaken? De eerste avond vierden we kerst bij mijn schoonfamilie. Ik tuigde mezelf op net als de kerstboom die in de kamer stond en vol goede moed met 10 kg zwaarder aan mijn lichaam, wurmde ik mezelf in een panty en jurk. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en kadootjes uitgepakt. Ik durfde het zelfs aan om twee wijntjes te drinken. Helaas was ik helemaal niet bezig met de glutenallergie (coeliakie) die ik ook nog wel/ niet zou hebben. Per ongeluk at ik glutenbevattende mayonaise en werd ik avonds beroerd. De glutenallergie was nog niet weg helaas. Ik was eigenlijk alle kerstdagen beroerd overdag en rustte veel in bed. De tweede kerstdag vierden we kerst bij mijn eigen familie. Hier werd ik wel lichtelijk overprikkeld door de drukte en enthousiasme die mijn familie altijd uitstraalt. Ik heb die enthousiasme dus niet van een vreemde. We gingen op tijd naar huis. De derde kerstdag hebben we eigenlijk weinig gedaan alleen de restjes bij mijn ouders opgegeten.
Oudjaar vierden we in stilte, alleen met zijn twee. Ik moest namelijk de hele week bijkomen van de kerstdagen. Dit bemerkte ik in vermoeidheid en veel slapen overdag. Op 31 december pakte ik het autorijden weer op. Ik oefende met Sven eerst op een grote parkeerplaats. Na twee rondjes ging ik zelf de weg op. Ik bemerkte dat mijn ogen goed functioneerde. Dit klinkt heel gek, maar ik had na aan beiden ogen blind te zijn geweest een soort diepte probleem. Tegemoet komende auto’s had ik altijd het gevoel dat zij tegen mij aan zouden rijden. Ik ging zelfs sommigen wegen uit de weg, omdat ik wist dat ik daar veel last van het diepte probleem zou krijgen. Maar ik reed op deze uit de weg gaande wegen en ik bemerkte niks! Het was dus weg! Ook hierbij een verbeterd probleem! De avond hield ik niet vol en lagen wij om 22:00 uur in bed. Ik heb zelfs om 00:00 alle knallen niet gehoord. Nieuw jaar, nieuwe mij. Hoe verwerk je dit alles?
